Another beautiful work by Ajeet, entitled “Two-Dimensional Halide Pb-Perovskite–Double Perovskite Epitaxial Heterostructures” is published in JACS now, same day with Jee’s nature chemistry paper. What a day!

We report epitaxial core-shell heterostructures via growing Pb-free double perovskites (involving combinations of Ag(I)–Bi(III), Ag–Sb, Ag–In, Na–Bi, Na–Sb, and Na–In) around Pb perovskite 2D crystals. Interestingly, distinct from Pb–Pb and Pb–Sn perovskite heterostructures, growths of the Pb-free shell at 45° on the (100) surface of the lead perovskite core are observed in all Pb-free cases. Jee, Ruyi (Duke-Blum group), Jie (ICCAS-Zhao group), and Linrui (Purdue-Huang group)’s paper entitled “Thickness control of organic semiconductor-incorporated perovskites” has been published in Nature Chemistry. Most complex perovskite single crystal structures resolved. 4 years of hard working has been paid off. Congratulations!

Our former postdoc, Dr. Enzheng Shi, now asst. prof at Westlake University, has published his team’s first independent paper in Science Advances entitled “Phase-pure 2D tin halide perovskite thin flakes for stable lasing“. This is an important first step. Congratulations!
